Funding Opportunities at UMMC

UMMC American Cancer Society-Institutional Research Grant Program:

This is a final call for applications for individual ACS-IRG awards under the
UMMC-American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant Program. These awards are typically up to $25,000 ($50,000 maximum for extraordinary applications) and are available to full-time faculty of the UMMC, as well as to faculty with joint UMMC/VA appointments, at the Instructor or Assistant Professor rank. Applications are due to the Committee by Tuesday, December 1, 2009.
Applications must be routed through the UMMC Office of Research with an accompanying completed transmittal form, in accordance with the Policy on Routing and Approval of Intramural Research Proposals.
All compliance certifications must be verified before funds can be disbursed, and all funds must be disbursed before December 31, 2009. For further questions, please contact

National Institutes of Health - The Information Source

New NIH Policy on Resubmission (Amended) Applications

Beginning with applications intended for the January 25, 2009 due date, all original new applications (i.e., never submitted) and competing renewal applications will be permitted only a single amendment (A1). Applicants who fail to receive funding after two submissions may resubmit but only if the application is fundamentally revised to qualify as new. Note that there is no time limit for the submission of the original and subsequent A1.
